I want to share a drill that will help you improve your centeredness of contact.
All you need are three golf balls, a golf club, and some foot spray.
Here's how you can perform the drill:
- Begin by placing three golf balls in a line, with each ball spaced approximately a club head width apart. Make sure they are aligned in a straight line perpendicular to your target.
- Spray your club face with foot spray, ensuring even coverage.
- With the club and foot-sprayed face ready, your goal is to strike the center golf ball accurately. Assume your normal stance and address the ball as you would in a regular swing.
- Pay close attention to the feedback you receive from each strike. If you notice that your contact tends to be towards the heel of the clubface, adjust the drill accordingly. Concentrate on hitting the inside ball while avoiding contact with the outer two balls. This variation allows you to practice improving center contact when strikes tend to be towards the heel.
- Conversely, if you find that your contact tends to be towards the toe of the clubface, modify the setup. Focus on hitting the outside ball while avoiding contact with the inside ball.
By incorporating this drill into your practice routine, you can develop the ability to consistently strike the center of the clubface.
